Lisa & Nick's Savannah, Ga engagement session

I don't even know how, in the space of this blog post, I am supposed to describe how very, very special this bride is to me (and I ADORE nick too of course)! I met Lisa at open house in 2005 when she was Emma's 1st grade teacher. It was Lisa's first year teaching and we both acted "grown up" for a few weeks before getting real and being ourselves. {Ourselves being total nutballs, of course!} I spent nearly every day (seriously, I did) in that portable with Lisa and that fun group of first graders. We pulled teeth, went on field trips, checked heads for liceand laughed SO much. Lisa became more than just my child's teacher that year. I count her among my very best friends and I am so very thankful for her and Nick! (they began dating that year too, what a great year, Lis!!) When Nick proposed to Lisa I crossed my fingers, toes and eyes hoping they would pick a date that I had available, and after a little switcharooing, THEY DID! ;)

I can't do a lot of things in this world, but I can pick up my camera and look through it and see happiness, so that is my wedding gift to Lisa and Nick. And forever and ever and ever I will give them the gift of photography as long as my eyes can see. Love you both!

The surprise everyone already knows!! The Charleston Wedding Studio

{{Thank you so much Nicole and Vance for participating in my wedding shoot in Charleston on Sunday and Thank you Heidi and Natalie for the AMAZING bouquet!}}

Here it is, my BIG announcement. HA! If you've been within 6 inches of me in the past 6 weeks or so I have told you, so it's not news to many but I will spill it anyhow!

As of 1/1/10 I will be opening another Wedding Studio in Charleston! South Carolina that is. I won't go into all of the reasons, because there really aren't a ton. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Savannah Wedding Studio! I love how these (non-exclusive mind you) businesses came together in one location and offered their amazing services to Brides getting married in Savannah, Hilton Head and Tybee Island. We share rent, advertising, ideas, passion, laughs and from this friendships were forged that I now count as some of my best! Watching these businesses grow became such a passion for me. Anyone that knows me and has spent time with me or who has been to the studio knows that. At the ripe old age of 32 I feel like the grandmother willow of the wedding studio. Do they need photos for their website, DONE, need a new website, I got that! I don't' say these things to boast, I just freaking LOVE these people and what the studio stands for! I hope and pray they feel the same. ahh heck I know they do! ;)

So back to me and a day trip to Charleston to shoot Tatiana and Joey's engagements. I thought, oh now wouldn't it be nice to have a Charleston Wedding Studio. Well dangit, look where that got me! ;)

I know there are wedding professionals in Charleston that are working so hard to get ahead, they may be working a full or part time jonin addition to running a wedding business. They spend nights emailing brides and meeting at starbucks or wedding venues to meet with potential clients. It wasn't too long ago I was meeting all of my brides and grooms right in my den! (Remember that, Katie?) I want to find those wedding professionals! They are talented, hardworking and just as passionate as we are and it's time Charleston knew it! I want to share this AMAZING space at 91 Broad St in Charleston and open new doors for them. I was once given a sofa at a frame store (crying now) on which to meet my brides and that feeling of pride took my business to a whole new level. Now there's a fushia sofa at 91 broad (and tons of other seating) waiting on a team of dynamic professionals that have that same drive!

I am beyond corny today, aren't I? I am just so darn excited. I want to thank EVERYONE who has made this possible. Every bride, groom, vendor and friend. I especially want to thank my best friend and husband. When I called him with this INSANE idea he scared the red out of my hair and responded with, something along the lines of "that's a great idea". I won't lie to you, my ideas aren't typically "great"! Even I admit that! ;)

So there you have it, my secret little suprise that everyone knew! I hope you'll share my enthusiasm for the Charleston Wedding Studio!

Here are some FAQ's I've received.

Kacie & Stephen's Savannah, Ga engagement session

Yesterday the rain FINALLY let up in Savannah! I am so glad too because I had portraits scheduled at Forsyth and for once in quite a while they weren't cancelled! I won't show Ryder's baby session here just yet, because I know Jenny will want to surprise her family with Christmas presents, but I can show you my adorable engagement session with Kacie and Stephen! They are getting married next September and it was the perfect day for pictures. Forsyth was the image of FALL in Savannah even though it's Christmastime and 80 degress! You gotta love living in the deep south!

I am so happy I got to hug a soldier yesterday (and a very sweet bride!).
